Chamber and perforated light/ fabric studies

Vessels, basins, holders, and lamp bodies inspired by seed pods, nests, shells, and protective plant structures. Small apertures/holes allow light to leak unevenly.

Fabric constructions on select pieces include sun-faded cloth, silk organza, cotton voile, linen, or fine net with natural dyes and mineral stains

How is care stored, transferred, depleted, repaired, and renewed?

Material Studies

Weathered, stained, dyed fibers that have been woven, repaired, torn, burned, imprinted, stitched and mended

Dividers and Constructions

Divider constructed of fabric/wood exposed to natural elements over time and dyed, mended with lace techniques and weaving

Focus on circulation and movement of bodies, visual access, air and shadow, tension between materials, what is protected and what is exposed

Hanging fabric ‘membranes’

Visitors circulate through hanging membranes while light circulates across and through them.

Ceramic elements filled with seeds and shaped organically, evoking brood cells to anchor cord, change how the fabric hangs, gather suspended fragments, and create pockets of light
